Afrika Tikkun realises that each community is different with regards to the challenges that they face, as a result we have the following outreach programmes that focus on the needs of the community.

Gender Based Violence

The Gender Based Violence (GBV) and Child Abuse Centre stems from an understanding of the linkages and complexities involved in abuse of children and women. A multi- sectoral approach is used to address gender based violence through partnering with organisations working with women, men, children and continuous engagement with duty bearers such as police and other government departments. Primary Health Care in the Western Cape

The Primary health care programme provides service to the communities of Delft and Mfuleni, which encompasses integrated home based care, integrated adherence support to HIV/AIDS/TB clients, health promotion, palliative care and integrated school health support. We have contributed to a decrease in the number of ARV defaulting patients and have seen incidences of diarrhoea related deaths amongst children decrease in our communities. Find out more…

Empowerment Programme for Children and Families Living with Disabilities

South Africa has one of the most enabling Constitutions in the world.  However, unfortunately, law and policy that works in the favour of people with disabilities is not much use if children with disabilities grow up in a society where negative attitudes and environmental barriers exclude them.  This Programme represents a progressive step towards helping children with disabilities and their families find solutions to the enormous challenges they face, and to create social change by leading the struggle against human violations perpetrated against them. Find out more…
